AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
Some of our athletes are top gymnasts in the US and comprise the US National Team. Successful training resulted in several especially known athletes, such as Rachel Marmer, four-time Junior National team champion of 2003-2006. Qualifier for 2007 World Championships in Greece. She could very likely represent the US in the 2008 Olympic games.
Alexandra Licona just competed at University World Games in Thailand. We are very proud to have such caliber athletes on our team. She represented the USA with grace and style.
Hollywood Academy is also the home of National team member Reba Daniels, Competitor at the Pacific Alliance in Hawaii. She has qualified for the international competition in Belgium 2007.
We are also proud to have Aliya Protto, a level 9 Junior. She is a member of the new USA gymnastic’s youth elite squad program.
Our youngest member Chantelle Ahl, eight years old, qualified for future stars in her first year. She will be training at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.
Our national team athletes represented the US internationally and took 1st place in Spain, 3rd in France, 3rd in Portugal at International competitions out of 36 countries. Also we were appointed by the US Gymnastics Federation to host the World Camp, which took place in August, in preparation for the World Championships that took place this October in Baku, Azerbaijan. Four qualifying athletes, including our own Aline Bakchajian, one of our best gymnasts, represented the United States at the event that drew international recognition and coverage. After the World Championship, Aline Bakchajian successfully competed in the 2005 Pan American games in Brazil, where the US National Team took all-around gold. She is now ranked #21 in the World in Ball Routine.
In 2004, Aline Bakchajian and our other outstanding gymnast, Alexandra Licona, both qualified for the US Olympic Trials among 8 best gymnasts in the United States.
